ETIQUETTE,

A BEACON OF HOPE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

Etiquette is a great framework for developing the personal attributes of respect, empathy, self-awareness and dignity so needed to navigate modern life and build quality relationships. Etiquette is a worthy solution to today’s challenge of what is and what is not appropriate behaviour. Not religious in nature, yet consistent with the underlying intent and philosophy of the world’s major religious traditions. It is independent and apolitical. Etiquette helps frame and guide our behaviour, our speech and actions to ensure it is at all times dignified and respectful. The potential for etiquette to help positively influence the next generation is exciting.

What once may have been the role of parents, the church and schools, in our time poor, online existence, the task of filling the void in morality and behaviour is increasingly falling to education providers. But education providers are likewise under increased stress and pressure due to competing educational demands. Education providers themselves need assistance. GM Hanna are etiquette experts and well placed to partner with education providers to share knowledge on etiquette to the next generation and prepare them for the future of work and a happy, successful life. Please watch our video below for more information.

ABOUT US

Gerard Hanna is the founder and convenor of the GM Hanna etiquette program.

Gerard started his journey to etiquette through men's tailoring. Not an uncommon pathway!

Gerard attended boarding school in Sydney NSW followed by studying a double degree in law and commerce at the ANU in Canberra.

After completing his studies Gerard returned to manage a family business with a history dating back 90 years. It was this business specialising in men's tailoring that lead him to become interested in the relationship between personal presentation and our attitudes and behaviour.

Gerard undertook intensive specialist training hosted by The English Manner school based in London to pursue further understanding in this field. The English Manner is generally considered one of the world's foremost authorities on etiquette. Gerard then set about designing a program that addressed some of the familiar challenges faced on the journey from school to university and into the workplace.

It utilised the principals and philosophy of etiquette and applied it young people living in a modern Australia. The result is a program that provides the best information to assist young people through these challenging and important transitions.

Gerard then pursued further study through The Standard Companion one of the foremost authorities on Australian etiquette. This study was a collaborative exercise undertaken to refine the program and ensure it met the highest standards of etiquette practice without sacrificing It's relevance to the young men it was designed for.

Gerard has been fortunate to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with some Australia's leading schools and education Institutions. The program continues to evolve and be tailored to each school and their specific needs and preferences.
